For the last 20 years, ThyssenKrupp MetalServ in Dortmund has increasingly been concentrating on warehousing for high-quality materials. The Dortmund logistics center for stainless steel and nonferrous metals has a reputation as one of the most efficient in Europe.

170,000 metric tons of stainless steel and nonferrous metals are shipped each year.

In fall 1998, a new stainless steel service center went into operation nearby. Stainless slit strip and non-standard shapes with extremely close tolerances and selected finishes are produced on state-of-the-art lines from a wide-ranging coil inventory. ThyssenKrupp MetalServ provided €40 million for the construction of the Dortmund stainless steel service center.
